Damian Lane secures prized Cox Plate mount

has confirmed he will ride Japanese contender in this year’s  (2040m).

On Friday, it was announced that the son of , trained by Mitsumasa Nakauchida and owned by Shadai Farm, will travel to Melbourne for the prestigious race at  on October 26.

Prognosis has secured three Group 2 wins and has placed at the top level three times, including back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Group 1 (2000m) in behind reigning Cox Plate champion .

Prognosis is currently the second favourite for at $5 with horse racing bookmakers.
