Cleo Cat set for Listed challenge at Geelong

Unbeaten mare Cleo Cat will aim to extend her winning streak to six when she steps into black-type company for the first time in the Listed Black Pearl Stakes (1200m) at  on Saturday.

Trained by , the four-year-old has earned her opportunity to tackle higher company following a determined victory against her own sex in Benchmark 78 grade at  on December 7.

“We’re going to give her her chance to try and get some black type,” Dabernig said.

“She looks pretty good, but this might be a different test for her.

“But still being against mares, it’s worth a try.”

The -based mare will jump from barrier six with , who has guided her to her last two victories, retaining the ride.

Cleo Cat is currently a +850 hope with Bovada for the Listed Black Pearl Stakes.
