Jockey Brad Stewart has been fined $3000 and his mount disqualified from second place after he weighed in light in a race at Ipswich.
Stewart rode Heat Shield into second place behind in Jet Train but was more than 0.5kg under weight on returning to scale on Friday.
Stewards held up correct weight before declaring Heat Shield a non-runner.
In handing down their penalty, stewards said they took into account the loss of prize money to the owners and the loss of monies invested on the horse.
