Trainer finished the racing season with a surge of winners and now he hopes to start the new one in a similar vein.

Bougoure made it four winners from his past six runners when won at on Wednesday.

He now has promising stepping up to city class for the first time on the QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap (1000m) at on Saturday.

“Azzareach was a good winner at the at his only start but these Brisbane two and three-year-old QTIS races are always very tough, but the money is good so it is worth having a go,” said Bougoure, who has put a norton bit on Azzareach for the first time to stop him pulling.

Azzareach ran a very slick time on a soft track when winning at the Gold Coast and any rain would not be a problem at Eagle Farm.

Many of Bougoure's horses race in the colours worn by -winner Strawberry Road who he strapped when the thoroughbred was trained by his father Doug.

Danny Bougoure also enjoyed plenty of Group One success with the top sprinter Falvelon.

“Top horses are hard to get but racing is a game where you can always hope,” he said.
