Starting from wide barriers is for who has the outside gate in the Stakes at Doomben.

His trainer says the draw will not hinder Boomsara who is used to it by now.

He has won four races and three of them have been from double digit barriers – 13 (twice) and 12.

“That is where he usually draws, out in the car park,” Munce said.

A field of 16 will run in Saturday's Group Three (1200m).

“I suppose what will be will be. I will have to leave it up to Brad (Stewart) whether he presses on or looks for a spot behind them,” Munce said.

“The horse is fit and this race suits him but who would know.”

Stewart will be having his first race ride on Boomsara but has been partnering him in track work.

“Brad was on Boomsara when he worked strongly with another of my horses, , on the Doomben course proper on morning,” Munce said.

Boomsara won the Group Three Plate and last summer but had his winter ruined when he failed to recover from a torrid run on a heavy track in the .

Munce elected to give Boomsara a longer than usual break and believes it will pay off.

“He is a lovely big horse and he has had a trial so he is ready to run a race with any luck on Saturday,” Munce said.
