Veteran jockey Nick Souquet has been charged by Victorian stewards with betting on thoroughbred racing.
Racing Victoria stewards allege Souquet made, and/or facilitated the making of, and/or had an interest in, 10 bets on thoroughbred horse races on November 10 last year with the bets placed totalling $125.
Stewards said none of the bets were on races Souquet was involved in.
The jockey is based in the Riverina and rides regularly at meetings on both sides of the NSW/Victorian border.
The charge will be heard by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on a date to be fixed.
Souquet is the fourth jockey to come to the attention of Victorian stewards for a similar offence in recent weeks following Daniel Schmitt, John Robertson and Chris Caserta.
