is gearing up for an exciting spring campaign after winning a 900-metre trial at  on Monday morning.

The gelding, who has earned over $7.7 million in prize money, hasn’t raced since his victory in  (1200m) in April.

Trainer confirmed that Overpass will kick off his campaign in Sydney before heading to Melbourne for the  (1200m) at , followed by a possible trip west for the Group 1 (1200m), a race he won last year.

“He’s going to run on day in either the main race or the Sydney Stakes, and I was thinking, from there, it’s a nice break into the Champions Sprint at Flemington,” Baker told Racing.com.

“He’s won down the straight before, winning the Inglis race, and I reckon he’s going better than ever.

“His trial was really good, and he looks to have come back well.

“He’ll stay up here for the time being and go to Everest day, but I wouldn’t mind looking at the Flemington Sprint, and then I’d love to get back to the Winterbottom.”
