is ready to take on older horses again with his trainer's only concern the forecast for rain in Sydney leading up to the Canterbury Stakes.

The three-year–old claimed some big scalps in the weight-for-age Group Two on February 1 including Group One winners Alizee and Kolding.

He has since won a barrier trial to tune up for a tilt a Group One win of his own in Saturday's Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at .

The colt has yet to race at the elite level but trainer Gerald Ryan believes he can measure up, permitting.

“If the Canterbury Stakes is wet then he could go to instead,” Ryan said.

“There are several ways to go.

“And if he runs in the Canterbury Stakes and runs well, then he has a lot of options.

“There is the TJ Smith Stakes against older horses or the or he could go back to his own age in the Group Two Arrowfield.”

Ryan has trained two three-year-olds to win the TJ Smith – Melito in 2010 and in 2018.

Standout is a brother to 2013 Golden Slipper winner Overreach and also races in breeder George Altomonte's and black colours.

He has had five starts for four wins and a second to in the in October.

Overreach was retired after six starts with three wins and three placings to her credit including a third in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes over 1400m.
