Having run a tough race only on the 30th of October in the Hotham Stakes unfortunately Great house will only have a three days rest to get ready for his toughest race to date. Although the five-year-old gelding came fifth in the Caulfield Cup behind Melbourne Cup favourite Incentivise & Persan he was still finishing in front of other Melbourne cup horses. Jumping out of barrier seven Great House's biggest threat will be getting stuck at the back of the pack and not finding the right opening to make his run down the Flemington straight.
