SPORTSBET has released its updated markets for the three major group 1 races this Saturday, giving early bird punters a chance to get the best odds available.

Punters can bet into the Newmarket Handicap, Australian Cup and the Coolmore Classic where some of Australia's best and up-and-coming thoroughbreds will take to the track.

Australian Guineas winner Palentino will likely press on to the 2000m Australian Cup at Flemington with trainer Darren Weir monitoring its progress.

“A lot of them don't eat up when they get home, but there was no feed left in his feed bin on Sunday morning, Jarrod (McLean, stable foreman) said,” Weir said.

“Palentino went for a wade at the beach and trot and canter and Jarrod said he felt really good.

“We'll just monitor him over the next couple of days and hopefully he does well enough so we can back him up on Saturday.”

Palentino is a $5.00 chance at Sportsbet with last start winner Bow Creek heading the market at $3.60. The John O'Shea-trained horse won its first Australian race in the Group 2 Peter Young at Caulfield and it looks a natural improver over more ground.

Bow Creek turned its form around after running an unlucky 13th behind Suavito in the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes. Suavito is on the fifth line of betting for the Australian Cup at $9 ahead of Rising Romance and Fenway at $13.

Coolmore Classic top contenders news and market

The John O'Shea-trained star Ghisoni is unbeaten in three starts and is the current $4.60 favourite for the Group 1 Coolmore Classic, but there's a handy mare on the second line of betting.

This Saturday at Rosehill Gardens the Gerald Ryan-trained Solicit will look to go back-to-back after notching a course record in the Guy Walter Stakes last start.

Ryan states it has done everything right leading into the $600,000 feature.

“Solicit is going well, I'm happy with her and she is coping well with her racing,” Ryan said.

Ryan is looking for his first Coolmore Classic win and believes he has the right mare for the job.

“She is a big mare who eats everything you give her so I have to keep her up to the mark on the track but she has bounced through her last-start win,” he said.

“I've only ever had one runner and that was Melito who ran third to Mick Price's mare [Aloha].”

Ghisoni and Solicit head a field of talented runners which includes former Kiwi Azkadellia, Telepathic which ran second behind Winx last start and impressive last start winner Don't Doubt Mamma.

Australia's best sprinters line up for Newmarket Handicap

The Group 1 Newmarket Handicap will see a cracking field of superstars headed by the Hawkes-trained Chautauqua.

The gelding by Encosta De Lago has won nine from 15 starts and a win would take it over the $4 million mark in career earnings.

It produced a scintillating finish to win the Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington last start and punters believe a repeat effort could be on the cards. The five-year-old is the dominating $2.50 favourite ahead of Japonisme and Terravista which looked good in the Lightning also.

Japonisme returned in the Lightning to finish third after winning the Coolmore Stud Stakes during the spring carnival last year. Going forward it was a great pointer for this campaign and punters have taken notice, betting the Chris Waller runner into $4.00.

Terravista, Counterattack and Delectation are all in single figures with light weight chances Supido, The Quarterback and Keen Array all well-favoured at each way prices.
