The Victoria Racing Club can expect a total crowd figure of between 350,001 and 355,000 punters to attend the four days of its Flemington carnival, according to punters who have backed that option into $2.20 favouritism at Sportingbet.

Sportingbet is offering odds of $2.70 for a total crowd figure of between 355,001 and 360,000, while a crowd in excess of 360,000 is $5. A crowd of 350,000 or under is the rank outsider at $5.50.

“The weather forecast is promising so punters are predicting a similar bumper crowd to last year when 351,356 racegoers attended the four days,” Sportingbet's Andrew Brown said.

“With so many internationals contesting Tuesday's cup there's certain to be a lot of overseas visitors in attendance this year so who knows, maybe they'll crack the 355,000,” Brown said.
