Multiple Group One winner Shoals is to miss the Group One Oakleigh Plate because of a poor blood picture.
Shoals was equal topweight for the 1100m-sprint at Caulfield on Saturday but the Anthony Freedman stable said on Twitter on Wednesday the mare would miss the race.
“Shoals has been scratched from Saturday’s Group 1 Oakleigh Plate. Her blood picture wasn’t good enough to run. We will confirm our plans in coming days,” Freedman Racing said.
Shoals was a $13 chance at the time of her withdrawal.
Nature Strip is the dominant $2.20 favourite for the $500,000 race with lightly raced Eduardo the $10 second pick.
