BetEasy.com.au has been born again from the ashes of BetEzy, Tom Waterhouse, William Hill and Crownbet.Sign up
There are many reasons why BetEasy.com.au – founded by punting guru and former Sportsbet.com.au chief executive officer Matthew Tripp – is one of our recommended bookmakers.
Tripp and the BetEasy.com.au crew have enjoyed a meteoric rise since he sold Sportsbet to Irish giant Paddy Power (he paid $250,000 for Sportsbet and then sold it for $338 million) and used that money to purchase the floundering BetEzy and rebranded it.
It’s a juggernaut that started out with monstrous bonuses for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Any punter who signed up to the site in August that year was given a massive $150 worth of free bets on the Socceroos in Brazil. That was $50 on the nose of every group match the Aussies played.
While they weren’t successful in any of their matches, it drew a massive buzz around the BetEasy brand and that’s continued. The bookie then offered free $50 bets on both the 2014 AFL and NRL grand finals, further swelling its membership sign ups.
The following year, BetEasy entered into a lucrative deal with Crown Resorts gaming magnate Kerry Packer to give the casino operator a controlling interest in the bookmaker. That partnership ceased in 2018, the same year Tripp secured the purchase of William Hill Australia.
Now the BetEasy brand is back in business and bigger than ever, offering quality odds and lucrative bonuses for horse racing, greyhounds, AFL, NRL, soccer, cricket, tennis, golf and more.

Desktop betting on PC and Mac
The new BetEasy layout for desktop and laptop computers is much like the CrownBet model that proved so popular with Australian punters. Tabs in the top menu give easy access to racing, sport, live betting, promotions, rewards and the exclusive Multi Express feature. Front and centre on the homepage are the latest bonus offers and the next races to jump, while the left-hand menu shows all the available categories for racing and sports. Everything you need is but a click away.
Mobile betting on smartphone and tablet
Well aware that more and more punters are favouring smartphone and tablet devices for their betting needs, BetEasy has created one of the best mobile betting sites in Australia. Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows – no matter what platform you are on, you can access every betting feature available on the desktop website. Like many of its rivals, BetEasy is also known to run exclusive promotions for mobile users.
BetEasy apps for iOS and Android
For Apple and Android users, the easiest way to place bets on the go is to download the official BetEasy mobile app. It costs nothing to install and offers one-touch access to all racing and sports markets, exclusive promotions, betting products and more. Punters with Android devices can download the free BetEasy app from Google Play, while iPhone and iPad users can get it from the App Store.
How to find and place bets at BetEasy.com.au
The BetEasy website features six tabs across the top to help you find what you want:
- Racing opens up the horse, greyhound and harness racing options.
- Sports takes you to all the sports betting markets.
- Live Betting shows in-play markets for events that have already started.
- Multi Express launches BetEasy’s exclusive multi-bet builder.
- Rewards is where you can shop your BetEasy Rewards points for all sorts of treats.
- Promotions lets you take advantage of the promotions, bonuses, enhanced odds and free bets on offer.
If you want to bet on thoroughbred racing, there are several ways to go about finding a market. The next races to jump are shown in the middle of the homepage; to view more races, open the ‘Racing’ tab in the top menu; otherwise, you can also get today’s racing, tomorrow’s racing and next to jump via the left-hand menu.
Whichever way you go, you will see a list of tracks with tickers counting down to the scheduled start for each race. Tap on any race to view the runners and their respective win/place odds. Tabs across the top of the listings allow you to browse prices for quinellas, exactas, trifectas and other exotics. Tapping the downward arrow next to a runner opens a detailed form guide, complete with expert’s comments for the upcoming race.
Placing bets is a piece of cake. All selections will appear in your virtual bet slip in the top right corner of screen, where you can set your stakes, create multi bets and more. Once satisfied with how your ticket looks, hit ‘Place Bets’ to confirm all wagers.
That’s all there is to it. For more info, head to BetEasy.com.au or browse the tabs below.
- Whether it’s thoroughbred, greyhounds, or harness racing (or all three) you like to bet on, BetEasy.com.au has you covered. Racing comes first here, with upcoming races displayed on the homepage and extensive daily markets only a click away. Futures are there too, with antepost odds available for all the big cups (Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate, etc.) and major international races (Kentucky Derby, Epsom Derby, etc.).
Probably our favourite part of the BetEasy site is the online form guide. Each runner in a race comes with details about age, sex, recent results, performance details and more. Whether it’s a quaddie, quinella, exacta, trifecta, or simple win/place bets, punters will find it very easy to make their different selections.
The BetEasy method is to offer fixed odds on almost every race, with a best tote plus option available so you can beat the TABs and get their best odds.
- BetEasy.com.au is the official wagering partner of the Australian Football League – far and away the most popular annual sporting competition in the country. There is no better place to find footy odds, specials and promotions all year round.
When the exclusive five-year deal was announced in 2015, AFL commerce boss Darren Birch singled out BetEasy’s commitment to betting integrity.
“A significant aspect of this partnership is the AFL’s capacity to work closely with its official wagering partner, along with other wagering outlets, to uphold the code’s integrity framework,” Mr Birch said.
It’s another big win for BetEasy chief Matthew Tripp,
“We are delighted to be the official wagering partner of the AFL for the next five years,” Tripp said.
“Being 100 per cent Australian owned and operated, we feel BetEasy is a natural partner for Australia’s premier sporting code.
“We’d like to thank the AFL for their show of faith in BetEasy, and we look forward to working together to make this partnership a huge success.
“The AFL is the benchmark for integrity and professionalism in Australian sport and it’s a privilege to be associated with them.”
AFL football betting is a $400 million a year industry – one in which BetEasy is now a market leader.
- The AFL is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg at BetEasy. Sports punters can indulge in thousands of daily markets and futures options for NRL, Super Rugby, A-League and Big Bash cricket, as well as major international competitions such as the NBA, NHL, NFL and Europe’s top soccer leagues.
BetEasy has vastly increased its market range since the early days and now offers everything from standard head-to-head bets, handicaps and margins to the most niche of exotic wagers and player props. Live betting is available on most events, although Australia’s laws against online in-play wagering mean these markets are only available over the phone.
Making deposits and getting your cash
BetEasy provides a number of secure, convenient options for you to deposit funds into your account.
The good old fashioned credit card is there, but you can also use your bank account to transfer funds (takes a day or two), a biller code for BPAY (ditto), or the quicker Poli feature, which accesses your bank account through a secure connection. You can even go to the bank and put cash directly into BetEasy’s account.
Before you withdraw any winnings, you need to make sure your betting account is verified and you have met all wagering requirements for bonus offers. If that is the case, cashouts by bank transfer or credit/debit card should take only a day or two to clear.

How much can I bet with BetEasy?

The much-vaunted security of 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer encryption is used to ensure every BetEasy customer’s transactions safe. Who is Matthew Tripp?
Matthew Tripp is a bookmaking genius. As we’ve mentioned, he paid $250,000 for Sportsbet and turned it into a national powerhouse before selling it for a ridiculous sum to Paddy Power, waiting a little while, then using the funds to purchase BetEzy and do it all again.
Said to be worth in excess of $100 million after the sale of Sportsbet, Tripp, the son of bookmaker Allan, has shown he has no fear of taking a risk because he is very good at picking his mark. He is involved in a syndicate with Jayco caravan tycoon Gerry Ryan that holds a stake in the Melbourne Storm – one of the big hitters in the National Rugby League.
In his own words, Tripp says BetEasy.com.au doesn’t reduce bets and he is more than happy to lose out on profit if it means his turnover will rise.
“Those punters who have struggled in the past couple of years will be in for a pleasant surprise,” he said.
“I’m not just talking about professional punters, I’m talking about retail punters who ring up and want to back their horse.
“I’ve heard stories about people ringing up and wanting to have $1000 each way on a horse, but are told, ‘No, you can only have $180 on it’.
“The farcical situation has occurred that professional punters have had to resort to asking friends, relatives, neighbours and even work friends to establish betting accounts that they can use in false names.
“There’s hard work ahead, but we think we can get there pretty quickly without a lot of pain.
“I’ve always been willing to forego margin in favour of turnover and be able to find a way to ensure customers get serviced and the doors stay open while generating enough margin to satisfy my shareholders.
“I think we are in a position where we can do things a bit differently and separate ourselves from the pack.”
Why we love BetEasy.com.au
Because they’re Aussies! It means your punting dollar is staying in the hands of Aussie people, fuelling Aussie jobs.
We’d also like to think that the crew at BetEasy will have a strong handle on the Australian sport. It’s their bread and butter.
The odds are competitive and comparable with the other major bookmakers. That $500 sign-up bonus is another big tick, not to mention the perpetual stream of weekly specials for sport and racing.
