Lightly raced Surprise Baby has given his a second Cup and his trainer a first with an impressive staying performance in the Morphettville feature.

Having just his sixth race start, Surprise Baby ($4.80) chimed in strongly to hit the front with 200m to run in Monday's 3200m-Group Two race and strode clear to win by 1-3/4 lengths.

After a fall in the eighth race on the program, jockey Dean Yendall has been taken to hospital for scans with the Victorian Jockeys' Association reporting he has a possible hip injury and concussion.
