As the 2025 Melbourne Cup approaches, RacingOnline.com takes a look at star jockey Craig Williams’ record in the race that stops a nation.

Craig Williams is one of the star jockeys of the Victorian racing scene. He has been a regular in the Melbourne Cup over the course of his decorated career, but how many times has he actually won it?
Heading into the 2025 Melbourne Cup, Williams had taken 21 rides in the great race for the one win aboard Vow And Declare in 2019.
Williams missed an opportunity to win an earlier Melbourne Cup in 2011, when an untimely suspension meant he had to jump off the eventual winner Dunaden.
It took a few years, but Williams settled the score in 2019 when he steered Vow And Declare to victory over Prince Of Arran and Il Paradiso.
