Feehan Stakes attracts only six runners

Just six runners will take their place in Saturday’s Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley, despite a spot in the Cox Plate (2040m) being up for grabs to the winner.

Coming off a good win first-up in the P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m), is the raging favourite with Bovada, while the talented Inspirational Girl and will both kick off their campaigns.

While both and likely want another lap, the race sets up nicely for four-year-old entire Forgot You, who is yet to lose at Moonee Valley.

The & Natalie Young-trained son of has won three races from as many starts at the track, including the Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m) and Group 2 (2040m) last spring when a three-year-old.

Forgot You trialled behind Passive Aggressive at Casterton on August 9 and was a recent jumpout winner over 1400m, laying the foundations for his carnival kickoff point.

“We trialled him over 1400m and he won – he had a really good hit out – we told Dan (Daniel Moor) to give him a good hit out and he did,” Young told Racing.com.

“Even though it’s not quite the same pressure of a race, having a trial, he took really good benefit from that.

“He had a little bit of light work on Saturday morning, pulled up really well and we’ll probably take him to The Valley again tomorrow.

“It’s going first-up into the Feehan – we wanted it to be second-up – but he looks a picture and hopefully it should be an ideal stepping stone for him.”
