“Yesterday a majority share was sold in our four-year-old mare SWATS THAT,” Malua Lodge said in a media release.

“Firstly, I would like to commend my team who have done an job with our girl. We are extremely sad to lose such a lovely kind mare, but we are proud to have shared the thrills of racing with a good ownership group that has created some lifelong friends.

“In the beginning she was a nice little filly with an ok pedigree and a few confirmation issues. Our team built her into a $1.3M winning 4YO mare that has raced against the best sprinters in the world, performing admirably.

“She will now continue her racing career with her new controlling shareholders and training duo Caron Maher and Dave Eustace. I am sure the boys will have some lofty plans for her moving forward.

“We wish her new team all the best and hope they have as much fun with her as we did.”
