Moody’s Star Glenfiddich Out Of Guineas

Peter Moody’s star colt Glenfiddich has been scratched from the Caulfield Guineas due to a breathing obstruction in his throat and will miss the spring.

, the best local chance in the , will miss the race due to a breathing problem.

His trainer said Glenfiddich had an epiglottic entrapment in his throat which needed to be operated on, ruling him out of the .

“It’s not major but it’s something we need to fix up,” Moody said.

“It’s disappointing but we will get him back for the autumn. It’s been affecting his breathing.”

Moody returned to training in May and Glenfiddich is his banner horse.

In two starts since joining the Moody stable, the son of has finished third in the Group One at behind and won the Group Two at Moonee Valley.

Glenfiddich was second favourite for the Caulfield Guineas prior to his withdrawal on .

Moody had trained one previous winner of the Guineas which was Anacheeva in 2010.
