Jockeys Mott And Bates On Injured List

Popular Jamie Mott has two broken legs as the result of a four-horse fall at .

Mott had surgery to insert a rod and screws to a fractured tibia and fibula in his left leg following the fall on Friday night.

It was later discovered he also had a fracture in his right ankle.

Victorian Jockeys’ Association chief executive said he did not expect Mott to be sidelined for any longer than the four months originally thought.

Mott and fellow riders Jason Maskiell, John Allen and were all involved in the Cranbourne fall which resulted in the last race being abandoned.

Allen and Dunn rode at on Saturday while Maskiell rode a winner at Moe on Sunday.

Mott had been riding in good form and was sitting fourth on the Victorian Jockeys’ Premiership with 33 wins before Friday night’s incident.
