Retired rider Damian Browne is off to a winning start as a jockey manager and hopes to build up his new business.

Recurring leg problems forced Browne to retire in April after a glittering career which included 16 Group One wins.

He has since been working mainly in the media and as a winter ambassador but recently got his licence as a jockey manager.

Browne's first client is Sean Cormack who rode a winner on and ran a head second in the Tim Bell Memorial on at on Saturday.

Browne is looking for more clients and said he was looking forward to the new challenge.

The recently formed Toby and Trent Edmonds training partnership is also off to a with three winners in their first three days.

Toby Edmonds, who finished equal second in the Brisbane metropolitan premiership last season, began a partnership with his son Trent on Thursday.

They had their first runner with Awake The Stars who was unplaced in the on Thursday.

The partnership had a double at on Friday with and while won at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

“It was a good way to start and it was exciting for us,” Toby Edmonds said.

“Now to start winning city races.”
