Dawn Passage and Accession are expected to fight it out for the major share of first prize in the inaugural Inglis Millennium at Warwick Farm.
In first markets on Saturday’s 1200m-race for two-year-old Inglis sale graduates, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Dawn Passage and Accession from the Chris Waller stable, control the market at $3.
Blazing Miss, Cosmic Force and Espaaniyah are next on $13 ahead of Tuesday‘s barrier draw.
Dawn Passage was an impressive 3-1/4 length winner on debut over 1000m at Randwick on January 26 while Accession is more experienced having won two of his three starts.
At his first start, Accession ran second to Athiri who is one of the favourites for the Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield on Saturday.
The Inglis Millennium is one of two races for two-year-olds at the meeting, the other being the Listed Lonhro Plate (1100m).
Cosmic Force and Athiri are also nominated for the Lonhro Plate which features the Gary Portelli-trained Time To Reign, the younger brother of 2017 Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign.
The Group Two Breeders Classic (1200m) for mares has attracted 12 entries headed by Egyptian Symbol and Egg Tart while the Group Three Eskimo Stakes for three-year-olds also has 12 nominations with last year’s Lonhro Plate winner Sandbar the highest-rated.
The race day is a precursor to the Inglis Classic sale which begins on Saturday night at the Inglis Riverside complex next door to Warwick Farm Racecourse.
