Irish-trained Melbourne Cup favourite Yucatan has drawn a wide barrier for Australia’s greatest race.
A clear-cut pick since making an impressive Australian debut at Caulfield last month, Yucatan will start from the second widest gate after drawing gate 23.
Caulfield Cup winner Best Solution drew best of Godolphin’s three runners in gate six with Avilius in 11 and Cross Counter in barrier 19.
