Champions Crowned & New Winners at Wisconsin International Raceway

Nate Van Wychen’s first feature win of the season was overshadowed by Jeff Van Oudenhoven claiming the late model championship. Van Wychen took the lead from Jason Vandenberg with just two laps to go, after trailing Vandenberg for the first thirty three laps. As Vandenberg crossed the start finish line to complete lap 33, Van Wychen dove to the inside, and they race side by side through turn two, when Van Wychen pulled ahead. Van Wychen went on to finish .618 seconds ahead of Vandenberg. Van Oudenhoven finished in third place, while Terry Baldry and Mike Gardner rounded out the top five. Lowell Bennett, who trailed Van Oudenhoven in the point standings finished sixth. Van Oudenhoven finished 18 points ahead of Bennett in the championship battle, his third championship in four years.


Rothe tops Action at Wisconsin International Raceway

Tim Rothe took home his third feature win of the season, passing Andy Monday for the lead on lap four. Rothe battled with Monday, racing side-by-side for three laps, until he finally cleared Monday on lap six, as they raced through turn two. Rothe went on to finish 2.949 seconds ahead of Monday. Dough Mahlik finished third, while Jeff Van Oudenhoven and Lowell Bennett raced their way through the field, both starting near the back of the pack, to finish fourth and fifth respectively. Van Oudenhoven holds an 18-point lead over Bennett, going into the final week of the season.


Sauter wins Blue Race, Kenseth claims Championship at Wisconsin International Raceway

Travis Sauter passed Terry Baldry to take the lead on lap 56 as the two raced side-by-side through turn four. Sauter had been battling Baldry on the inside for the past several laps. With just 20 laps to go, Sauter began to extend his lead on the field, until the caution flag came out with just three laps to go. On the restart, Sauter was followed by Baldry, Tim Rothe, Ross Kenseth, Andy Monday and Lowell Bennett. Sauter and Baldry took off, while Kenseth passed Rothe for third place. Sauter went on to win the Blue Race sponsored by Budweiser /WAPL/MCL. Baldry finished second, followed by Kenseth, Rothe and Monday. Kenseth was named the 2011 Red, White & Blue Champion, finishing three points ahead of Bennett. Point leader Jeff Van Oudenhoven had a trying night, first having to race his way into the feature, by winning the semi-feature and then not finishing the Blue Race. Van Oudenhoven holds a 19-point lead over Bennett in the 2011 championship battle.

Sawyer Effertz was declared the winner of the limited late model feature, which was marred with cautions and a lengthy red flag. Effertz led every lap in the shorted 29-lap feature, holding off Todd Verhagen for his second win of the season. Mike Meyerhofer finished third, followed by Brandon Conrad and Gary Natrop. Natrop was crowned the Red, White & Blue Champion, finishing 7 points ahead of Effertz. Natrop leads Meyerhofer by 18 points in the 2011 championship battle.

Larry Raygo won the 25-lap Super Stock feature. Raygo took the lead from the very start, leading each lap on his way to his fist feature win of the season. VandeWettering finished second, followed by Rick Wenzel, Dave Meyerhofer and Greg Hauser. Hauser and Andy Casavant won the Red, White & Blue Championship by three points over Wenzel. With two weeks to go in the season long battle, Hauser and Casavant hold a 34 point lead over Wenzel.

In the Sport Truck action, John Roeser won his eleventh feature of the season, leading the final 22 laps. Roeser finished 3.453 seconds ahead of Jason Plutz. Jacob Boldig was third, followed by Jake Carpenter and Eric Johnson. Roeser claimed the Red, White & Blue Championship, finishing 24 points ahead of Plutz. Roeser leads the season long point battle by 152 points over Plutz.

Cole Gracyalny won the 20-lap Sizzlin 4 feature. Gracyalny took the lead from Patrick Braun on lap nine, holding him off for the final twelve laps. Braun went on to finish second, followed by Wayne Sonkowsky, Braison Bennett and Cory Romenesko. Wayne Sonkowsky won the Red, White & Blue Championship, finishing 7 points ahead of Cody Huven. In the seaon long points battle, Huven holds a one point lead over Cody Kippenhan with two weeks to go.


VanOudenhoven Wins Again at Wisconsin International Raceway

Jeff Van Oudenhoven won his fifth feature of the season on Al Huss Auto & Truck Night. Lowell Bennett took the early lead until caution slowed the field on lap three, for an accident on the backstretch involving Austin Luedtke, who was challenging for second position. After a lengthy cleanup and red flag, Van Oudenhoven took the lead from Bennett as they race through turn two on the restart. The rest of the race remained caution free, with Van Oudenhoven finishing .776 seconds ahead of Bennett. Tim Rothe finished third, followed by Terry Baldry and Andy Monday. Van Oudenhoven remains the point leader, extending his lead to 46 points over Bennett.


Gardner Survives Wild Night at Wisconsin International Raceway

Mike Gardner returned to victory lane on Standard Electric Night at Wisconsin International Raceway on a wild night of racing. Gardner started the 35-lap feature event from tenth position and took the lead from Austin Luedke on lap twelve. Luedke took the lead following the caution on lap four and led until the red flag came out for a chain-reaction crash in turn four. Oil covered most of the track, resulting in a lengthy clean up. When the green flag flew, Luedke chose to restart on the outside, while Gardner opted for the inside. Gardner passed Luedke coming out of turn four and went on to lead the remaining 24 laps. Luedke held on to finish second, followed by Brett Piontek, Doug Mahlik and Terry Baldry. Jeff Van Oudenhoven remains the point leader, now 35 points ahead of Lowell Bennett.


Resiliant Rothe Survives Restarts at Wisconsin International Raceway
