Dells Raceway Park was the place to celebrate the July 4th holiday with both the pits and the stands filled to near capacity. The Wisconsin Challenge Series Super Late Models headlined the show with their annual North American Cup sponsored by 3D Construction & Great Lakes Components. A huge fireworks display by Thundercat Fireworks brought the evening to a close.

Thousands of fans watched as Chris Weinkauf worked his way from the 10th starting spot to an impressionable win. Thirty-nine cars were on hand for the traditional event at the Dells. Once again Steve Holzhausen would be the fastest qualifier. That makes two fast times for Steve this year out of three races earning him the all important five bonus points for each fast time.

Darek Gress Enters All the WCS Events for 2009
#80 Darek Gress plans to run the full WCS Schedule. He has two fresh Bac-Kar Super Late Models with B&B ACE Engines. Darek started his career in 1998 in Kart Racing. With five years of Kart experience Darek started running Super Late Models in 2005 with a home built car, gaining valuable experience and some impressive wins at Golden Sands Speedway.

Brandon Selle Ready to prove He Can Race
Brandon Selle of Dale Wisconsin has entered all the WCS races for 2009. Brandon has been racing for ten years and is extremely confident heading into 2009. Brandon has been a mainstay at Golden Sands Speedway over the last few years and continues to challenge for the track championship every year. His 2009 Impala will carry the sponsorships of Global Fab, Dale Gas & oil, The Waters, and Fine Brick Engine. Brandon has also been a competitor in the WCS for the few years. He is definitely a contender for the championship this year.

WIR Vetern Enters WCS Events for Entire Season

The WCS is pleased to announce that its 2009 schedule is ready. The WCS will go back to its grass roots and run a schedule similar to it first season in 2001. "This schedule will give every local racer in the Mid-West an opportunity to come prove their talent against each other." says series owner Craig Bassuener. "I really like the spacing of the events, this gives the driver time between events to prepare for the next event and also race hard at their local tracks for a championship." Bassuener continued. The series will kick off the 2009 season at the high banks of Golden Sands Speedway May 25th with the Memorial 100. Always an exciting race with many different winners. The 2nd stop will be at the Marshfield Super Speedway on June 13th.
