The final checker flag has flown for the 2011 season at Seymour Super Speedway. The Fall Classic winners were Paul Parker(Late Models) Danny Deau(Modifieds) Brian Ambrosius(Stocks) Jason Guyette(Sport Mods) Trevor Schmidt(Street Stocks) Tim Doehling(Grand Nationals) and Brian Johnson(4 Cylinders).

Matt Drawenek took early advantage of the Street Stock feature powering from the outside into the lead. Gary Kasperek would make his move into second place and make a run down low after the only caution of the race. Kasperek would gain the lead on the bottom and then head out for a Saturday afternoon cruise. With Kasperek dominating the race, Trevor Schmidt got passed Drawenek for second and set his sights on the leader.

Schmidt would battle from a near full straightaway disadvantage to catch Kasperek with two laps to go. Schmidt would make his way underneath Kasperek and power away with the lead and eventual win. It was Schmidt’s first win of the season at the speedway. Drawenek made a last corner pass on Kasperek for second. Todd Everard finished fourth with Shawn Hayden fifth.

Tim Doehling used a dominating performance to win the Grand National feature event. The race was filled with six cautions through the early part of the race keeping the field close. Doehling was able to pull away from Tim Thompson on every restart and eventually grab the checker flag. Thompson would run second with Steven Ruh making a late charge to third. Nick Strobbe and Larry Zirbel rounded out the top five.

158 cars packed the pits to race the Summer Holiday Classic 3. Feature winners were Greg Nippoldt (Late Models) Shawn Kilgore (IMCA Modifieds) Brian Ambrosius (IMCA Stockcars) Jeremy Cota (IMCA Sportmods) Jerry Winkler (Street Stocks) and Tyler Hungerford ( 4 Cylinders)

Pete Parker used his front row starting spot to grab the early lead in the Late Model feature event. Greg Nippoldt would quickly run into second after a lap three caution. Nippoldt would use the restart to stay with Parker and work to the inside of him on lap six. Nippoldt would take the lead and cruise away to pick up the win in the feature event. Justin Ritchie would finish second after passing Parker with three laps to go. Parker would finish third with Nick Anvelink fourth and Jim Schmidt fifth.

James Tebon started third with Shawn Kilgore fifth in the IMCA Modified feature. By the end of lap one the duo was side by side for the lead. The two would breakaway from the field and stay number to number for the first ten laps of the race. Kilgore would finally take charge but with Benji LaCrosse making up ground on the leader. LaCrosse would move to the back bumper through turns one and two and then dive down low in turns three and four. Kilgore was able to keep the edge for the next eight laps. Kilgore would eventually pull away from LaCrosse and pick up the win in just his second night racing at the track on the season. LaCrosse would pick up second place money with Jamie Schmidt, Tebon and Brian Mullen rounding out the top 5.

Brian Ambrosius started on the outside pole of the IMCA Stockcar feature event and would build up a huge lead before a caution would regroup the field on lap six. On the restart, Ambrosius would pull away from the field yet again. Kyle Frederick would eventually make his way to second and try to reel in Ambrosius but to no avail. Ambrosius would win his fourth straight feature by about half a straightaway over the second place Frederick. Mike Schmidt would run third in his first run of the season. Larry Karcz finished fourth and Mark Schuenemann fifth.

Christopher Budzban would run up on top of the racetrack to a comfortable lead early in the IMCA Sportmod main. Budzban would continue to lead until Eric Mahlik would make a run at him after a lap four caution. Mahlik would put heavy pressure inside with Jeremy Cota right behind. Mahlik and Cota worked around Budzban on lap 7 and got away from the rest of the field. Mahlik seemed to have the win in hand but a bobble coming to the white flag gave Cota the inside lane. Cota shot underneath Mahlik and cleared him off of turn two. Cota would stage off the last advances and pick up his second win of the season. Brad Theys and Mark Joski would pass Mahlik on the final corner for third and fourth. With Mahlik fourth, Brad Lautenbach would finish fifth.

”Dancin” Lance Arneson passed Scott Mullen with just 3 laps remaining to take home his second feature of the season in the IMCA ModifiedsatSeymour Super Speedway. Other feature winners were Brian Ambrosius (IMCA Stock Car), Chad Guyette (IMCA Sport Mod), Danny Gracyalny (Street Stock) and Brian Johnson (Four-Cylinders) Seymour would crown Champions in all IMCA sanctioned classes. In the IMCA Modifieds Seymour’s Brian Mullen would add another Championship to his long list of accomplishments. Kyle Fredrick of Oconto Falls took home his first career Championship in the IMCA Stock Cars. In the IMCA Northern Sport Mods, New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach captured his first ever track title by 1 point over Kewaunee’s Brad Theys.

Scott Mullen jumped out to an early lead in the Modified feature with Lance Arneson, Kyle Lentz and Jamie Schmidt giving chase. With the top four all running the cushion, Jason Czarapata would be the first to test the low groove and begin mowing through the field, getting to fifth with only 5 laps remaining. With the race staying green Scott Mullen would begin to encounter lap traffic. Arneson would be the first to make a move sliding under Mullen for the lead with 3 laps remaining. Czarapata followed Arneson to the lead and give it all he had on the last lap but it wasn’t enough as Arneson would take home his 2nd feature of the season in the caution free event, Czarapata took second followed by Scott Mullen, point Champion Brian Mullen and Jamie Schmidt.

With the win Arneson will head into the last week of racing at area local tracks leading the IMCA Wisconsin State points in the Modifieds.

Brian Ambrosius fought off Jon Courchaine to take home his 3rd feature in a row in the IMCA Stock Cars. Justin Jacobson would crawl out of the Danny Gracyalny back up Street Stock and into his IMCA Stock Car and power to the lead of the feature. Unfortunately his reign up front wouldn’t last long as his engine expired on the front stretch pouring oil all over the track. Josh Mroczkowski inherited the lead, as the race restarted Brian Ambrosius and Jon Courchaine went 3 wide around Mroczkowski with Courchaine taking the lead. Over the next 10 laps Ambrosius and Courchaine traded the lead several times and the dog fight would look to come down to the wire. As the drivers entered lap 12, Courchaine’s machine would head to the pits with mechanical problems. Ambrosius cruised unchallenged to the winners circle. Point Champion Kyle Fredrick would place second, Rod Snellenberger would make a late race charge to third, Shawn Havel came from row 6 to place fourth with Greg Gutt fifth. Like Arneson, Rod Snellenberger will head into the last week of racing at area local tracks leading the IMCA Wisconsin State points in the Stock Cars.

Brian Ambrosius, Jason Guyette and Brian Johnson now have won two features in a row in their respective divisions. After Sunday Jason Czarapata and Phil Hiles have each won three features in their divisions on the season.

Mike Wedelstadt used his outside row number one starting spot to nab the lead in the IMCA Modified feature. Lance Arneson would quickly run to second and get to the back bumper of Wedelstadt. The duo would run on top until halfway through the race mechanical woes would send Arneson to the infield. Jason Czarapata and Benji LaCrosse would make their ways to second and third and move passed Wedelstadt for the top two spots. Czarapata would continue to run the top with LaCrosse right behind. LaCrosse would make a move to the back bumper on the white flag lap but couldn’t make the pass. Czarapata would win his third feature of the season followed by LaCrosse, James Tebon third, Jerry Wilinski fourth and Mike Wedelstadt falling to fifth. The race went green to checker.

Justin Jacobsen graced the front of the IMCA Stockcar feature early on. Jacobsen would continue to fight for the lead in a three-wide battle with Bill Kelsey and Mike Coel. Shawn Wagner and Brian Ambrosius would make their way through the field by the halfway point of the race. Ambrosius would fight to the inside and eventually take the lead on Jacobsen on lap 11. On lap 13, the lone caution of the main event would fly. Ambrosius would shoot out from the pack and go onto win his second main event in a row. Wagner would have to settle for second place points. Mike Coel would run a season best third. Jeremy Wiitala and Jacobsen rounded out the top 5.

Tyler Wilson led the opening few laps of the IMCA Northern Sportmod feature until a lap 6 caution would bring the field back together. On the restart Jason Guyette would get to the back bumper of Wilson and eventually make the pass off of turn 4. Guyette would cruise to his second straight feature win. Troy Jerovetz would run second followed by Brad Theys third, Wilson fourth and new point leader Brad Lautenbach fifth. Eric Arneson who was the point leader coming into the night, sustained mechanical failure on the 1st lap of the race ending his night on the infield.

Mike Wedelstadt hit a huge feat at Seymour Super Speedway in his IMCA Modified racer Sunday Night. Wedelstadt earned his 100th career IMCA Modified feature win. Other winners were Brian Ambrosius(IMCA Stockcars), Jason Guyette (IMCA Sportmods), Gary Kasperek (Street Stocks) and Brian Johnson (4 Cylinders).

Mike Wedelstadt used his outside pole position to grab the top spot early in the IMCA Modified feature. Kyle Lentz would make his way to second and track down Wedelstadt. A lone caution on lap 7 would put the field back together. On the caution, point leader Brian Mullen would stall and be pushed off by the tow truck ending his night. Kyle Lentz used the restart to jump inside Wedelstadt and make numerous attempts down low. Wedelstadt would continue to lead with the lone exception of lap 14 where Lentz was able to lead. In the final laps, Lentz repeated going down low for the lead but couldn’t make anything stick. Lentz got one last push off turn four on the last lap but would have to settle for second. The win for Wedelstadt would be his 100th career IMCA Modified feature win. Second place man in points, Jason Czarapata would cut into Mullens lead with his third place finish. Mitch McGrath and Lance Arneson would round out the top 5.

Brian Ambrosius made a quick shot from third to first on the opening corner of the IMCA Stockcar feature. Devon Snellenberger and Rod Snellenberger would quickly move to second and third. Ambrosius would half almost a straightaway lead when a caution on lap 5 would bring the field close. After a couple of restarts, Ambrosius would once again pull away from both Snellenbergers. Ambrosius would check out the rest of the way and pick up his first feature win of the season. Shawn Wagner would make a late race charge to finish second. Son and Father Snellenberger would finish third and fourth with Mitch Stankowki finishing fifth.

Sunday night had 3 divisions with 1st time winners. Brandon Czarapata took the IMCA Stockcar feature. Travis Van Straten won the 20 lap IMCA Northern Sportmod feature. Mert Summers picked up the Street Stock main event. Brian Mullen won the IMCA Modifieds and Calvin Stueck picked up the 4 Cylinder feature win.

Eddie Muenster led the opening lap of the IMCA Modified feature with Mike Wedelstadt right in tow. Jamie Schmidt would charge hard to the front and move inside Muenster for the lead on lap three. Schmidt would start to pull away from the field. Point leader Brian Mullen used all three racing grooves to make his way to the runner-up spot. Mullen would eventually catch Schmidt and work his way passed Schmidt using the middle of the track. Jason Czarapata would follow Mullen into the top two spots. Over the course of the final ten laps Czarapata would gain on Mullen but not enough to make a pass. Mullen would extend his point lead by one over Czarapata. Schmidt would run third followed by Benji LaCrosse fourth and Muenster fifth. The feature event went green to checker with no cautions.

Brandon Czarapata isn’t usually accustomed to getting to start on the front of a feature event. He took the opportunity and made it a successful one. Czarapata would rocket out from his from row spot but not without heavy pressure from Jon Courchaine. Point leader Kyle Frederick would quickly make his way to third place and run down Courchaine. At the halfway point of the race Frederick would make the pass for second. Frederick tried every groove possible but could only watch Czarapata cruise away for his first win of the season. Frederick would extend his lead by two points in his championship pursuit. Courchaine would settle for third with Shawn Wagner fourth and Harley Simon fifth.
