Finney Returns to Glory in Vercauteren Memorial at Norway Speedway

Ending a nearly-three-year drought, Jacob Finney captured his third Mid-American Stock Car Series feature win at Norway Speedway Friday night. It was Finney’s second in a Vercauteren Memorial and first since Aug. 16, 2008 – a win that engraved his name on the trophy the first time.

After consultation with the Vercauteren family, The Mid-American Stock Car Series announced Wednesday that the 22nd Vercauteren Memorial will be held this Friday Aug. 5 as part of the Race Ramps Eh Main at Norway (Mich.) Speedway.

Verso Paper of Quinnisec presented the action at the Norway Speedway Friday Night as Scott Stanchina took the lead away from Scott Hoffman and never looked back easily winning the Pepsi Late Model A feature. Ryan Wender won his first Auto Value Super Stock A feature, while Mark Moraska won the DQ-Dog A feature.

The Action was great at the ASA sanctioned Norway Speedway Friday Night, as Iron Mountain Power Sports and Kingsford Dairy Queen presented week three at the Norway Speedway. Mark Miller turned back the clock and outraced Gregg Haese and Scott Stanchina to win the Pepsi Late Model A Feature while Brett Bray held off the field to win the Auto Value Super Stock A Main, and Fran Berube ran away with the DQ-Dog A Feature.


Jamie Iverson Returns Home to Norway Speedway and Claims Season Opener Victory

Jamie Iverson started the 2011 Norway Speedway season, exactly how he ended it in 2010, by winning the Pepsi Late Model Main Event. Bryce Cuggino took the checkers in the Super Stock feature, while Tanner Kelly won his first DQ-Dog A Feature.


Michigan's Norway Speedway 2011 Preview

Another year is set to kick off at the Norway Speedway on Saturday May 21st with a special 50 lap Pepsi Late Model event offering $1000 to the winner. The opener also features the return of the Mid American Stock Car series, which will return to the speedway again on August 5th.  The 2011 schedule is also highlighted by the 111 lap State Line Challenge presented by the Island Resort and Casino on June 10th with Wisconsin’s best challenging your Norway Speedway local heroes.  Auto Value Bumper to Bumper returns to sponsor their two race specials which will be held on June 17th and July 29th. Econo Foods will also be back with another 4th of July Spectacular on Friday, July 1st. The year will close out with the return of the ASA Midwest Tour with the running of the Labor Day 125.
