Marne, MI—Over 5,000 fans were on hand to witness a thrilling night at Berlin Raceway. Kelsey Steele scored her second win of the season in the Young Guns division and Scott Thomas got his first win of the season in the Coors Light Late Models; winning the CRA Super Series Rowdy Busch 125 was Brian Campbell.

The Young Guns took the track first; #32 Gabe Ensing was slotted to start on the pole position, but his wreck in the heat race took him out of contention. #16 Kelsey Steele moved up to take his space next to #19 Dalton Haney. From the drop of the green flag, Steele took off with the lead and by halfway, had put almost four seconds between herself and Haney. Haney had his hands full with #6 Brandon Hermiller who took second place from him on lap 11. Hermiller began to catch Steele, but he ran out of time. Steele got her second win of the season after leading all of the laps and finishing behind her was Hermiller, Haney, #18 Mitch Meppelink, #101 Lauren Bush and Ensing.

CONCORD, N.C. -- Anderson Speedway in Indiana has always been considered the birthplace of the American Speed Association. The days of Bob Senneker, Mike Eddy, Dick Trickle, Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace doing battle at the tight, high-banked quarter-mile oval are legendary. Now officials are celebrating ASA’s heritage by bringing back the historic Redbud 300 race on Tuesday, June 16th, at Anderson Speedway.

“There seems to be a tremendous interest in this race,” said Rick Dawson, promoter of Anderson Speedway. “It is almost like the perfect storm, as we have a NASCAR star coming to town; we have the CRA Series coming; we have resurrected the historic Redbud 300, and we have the added ASA flavor.”

That NASCAR star is none other than phenom Kyle Busch, who won 21 races between the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series in 2008 and has already won in each series again this year. He will bring his KBM Super Late Model team to Anderson, IN, for the Redbud 300.

CRA PR Series Report
The Rowdy Busch 125 Presented By Auto Body Xperts CARSTAR at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan is the next CRA Super Series event on the 2009 schedule on Wednesday, June 10th featuring NASCAR star Kyle Busch. The event will be a CRA Super Series non-points 125 lap special event that will pay $4000 to win and $500 to start.

“We look forward to having CRA with this event,” remarked Michael Blackmer, the Promoter of Berlin Raceway. “The CRA events at Berlin in the past have been great races. The Rowdy Busch 125 will be another great show with NASCAR star Kyle Busch competing against some of the best CRA drivers and the great group of local talent that always comes out to compete in these types of events!”

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Anderson Speedway and CRA Super Series Late Model officials announced today that two-time ASA National Champion Gary St. Amant will compete in the Red Bud 300, a tribute to the Heritage of the Old ASA Series. St. Amant joins NASCAR star Kyle Busch among former ASA drivers that will race in the Red Bud 300 on Tuesday, June 16. Former Indy Racing League competitor Tyce Carlson and up and coming USAC star Dakota Armstrong will also be part of the Red Bud 300.

Gary St. Amant, of Columbus, Ohio, made 14 ASA starts at Anderson Speedway with a best performance in 1997 when he earned the victory ahead of Kansas racer Rick Beebe and short track legend Bob Senneker. St. Amant recorded seven top-five finishes and 11 top-10 finishes in his career with ASA at Anderson.

St. Amant earned two ASA championships in 1998 and 2000. He finished his career with 23 event victories.

SALEM, Ind. -- Anderson Speedway officials have released the details on their $5000 to win 300 lap Street Stock event that will take place at the “World’s Fastest High-Banked Quarter Mile Oval” on Saturday, June 27th. The event will be sanctioned by Champion Racing Association with the CRA Street Stocks rules and will be a special point’s event for the Anderson Speedway Street Stocks and a regular points event for CRA Street Stocks, but the event is open to any Street Stock competitor who wants to come race.

“Street Stocks have always been one of this areas favorite racing divisions for years,” remarked Rick Dawson, Promoter of Anderson Speedway. “We have always had a couple of special events for Street Stocks each year, but now that they have become the premier racing division here at Anderson, I wanted to give them their own signature event like our Little 500 for the Sprint Cars and the Redbud 300 for the Late Models. We feel this event will attract the best drivers in this area for the biggest grassroots racing event in this region!”
