May 16, 2012; Beaver Dam, WI - The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Car Series continues its 2012 racing season this Saturday evening, May 19th with a trip to Beaver Dam Raceway. The event will mark the first of four appearances for the 410 outlaw sprints at the third-mile clay oval.

Two races are in the books so far for the 900 horsepower open-wheeled machines and Billy Balog appears to have his sights set on another series title. Balog the four-time and defending series champion has captured both events run so far this year taking victories at both 141 Speedway and Wilmot Raceway.

He currently leads the standings by a slim margin over Mike Reinke. Reinke is hoping to make his way to victory lane having finished in the runner-up position at the season opening event and then turning in a sixth place performance at the most recent IRA event.

Other contenders should include Mike Kertscher who scored a runner-up finish at the IRA event held this past Saturday. Kertscher has a proven record at Beaver Dam Raceway where he scored one of his three victories last season.

Other IRA regulars expected to attend the event include local favorite Scotty Neitzel, Russel Borland, Brandon Thone, Dave Uttech, Phillip Mock, Bill Wirth, Scott Uttech and Bill Warren.

Top rookie of the year contenders Robbie Pribnow and Blake Nimee are also expected to be on hand.

Priewe Hungry for Some Home Cookin' at Beaver Dam Raceway May 26

by Joe Verdegan
(Green Bay, WI) May 3 - Beaver Dam's Craig Priewe has been waiting for something like this for quite awhile.

The Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design & Directional Drilling Services will make it's debut at Beaver Dam Raceway Saturday, May 26. Priewe knows the third-mile, clay oval like the back of his hand. The hometown ace was the modified champion in 2009 and 2010, as well as back in 2006. He raced sparingly last season.

"When I heard about this tour it's pretty much what wanted me to come back to racing again," said the 39-year-old Priewe. "I'm at the point in my life where we want to do some other things on the weekends, as this Tour fits into my life perfectly."

Priewe has gone all out with brand new equipment, including a new Wild Inc. chassis. "Beaver Dam is a run-and-gun type of track," said Priewe, the 1996 champion at the Dodge County Fairgrounds. "There's no time to second guess yourself when you come off of turn two, because that wall comes up fast. The modified handling can change from week to week, and you can be left in the dust in a hurry if you don't hit the setup just right. You'll have to be on your "A" game with these shows."

Years ago Priewe ran to the north in Seymour and Manitowoc, where he finished runner up in points at both tracks in the mid 90's."One of my crew guys Denny Baye is from Green Bay and we've got Jim Krahn from Krahn Performance on board helping us too," said Priewe."I'm looking forward to seeing some of those guys I used to race against years ago.

by Kurt Gilhart
Beaver Dam Raceway held its 2011 Season Championship races Saturday night. A total of 102 races cars filled the pits, even with the threat of rain in the area. Tony Peterson picked up his first A Main of the season in the Weld Specialty Supply Modifieds. Nick Firari led the first two laps, before Dan Tafelski got by to take the top spot. His lead lasted just one lap as Peterson got by Tafelski on the low side. A lap eight restart almost saw Peterson lose the lead as he made contact with Don Scheffler on the front stretch, but he held on while Scheffler fell back to the fourth position. From there Peterson would lead the rest of the way, but a hard fought battle was going on behind him. When the dust settled, it was Scheffler back up to second, Chris Piquette finishing third, Eddie Lemay Jr. fourth and Tafelski in fifth.

Muhle Halts Bishofberger’s Streak at Beaver Dam Raceway

By Kurt Gilhart
A perfect night for racing greeted racers and fans Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway. In the Performance Motorsports Sport Mods, Aaron Muhle ended Zeke Bishofberger’s A Main streak at eleven, but it was anything but easy for Muhle. Muhle jumped to the lead from his front row starting position, behind him Kevin Reed and Bishofberger were working there way thru the pack. On lap 8 Bishofberger got past Muhle on the inside, but the caution came out for the spinning Adam Pugh. This put Muhle back in front with Bishofberger and Reed in tow. The next 12 laps would see Muhle run down low, Bishofberger trying the middle and Reed running the very top of the track. In the end Muhle was able to hold of both drivers and score the victory. Reed would inch ahead of Bishofberger for second, Matt Bedker came home fourth and Jeff Schepp rounded out the top five.
