Peterson Picks Up First Feature Win at Beaver Dam Raceway

Beaver Dam Raceway held its 2011 Season Championship races Saturday night. A total of 102 races cars filled the pits, even with the threat of rain in the area. Tony Peterson picked up his first A Main of the season in the Weld Specialty Supply Modifieds. Nick Firari led the first two laps, before Dan Tafelski got by to take the top spot. His lead lasted just one lap as Peterson got by Tafelski on the low side. A lap eight restart almost saw Peterson lose the lead as he made contact with Don Scheffler on the front stretch, but he held on while Scheffler fell back to the fourth position. From there Peterson would lead the rest of the way, but a hard fought battle was going on behind him. When the dust settled, it was Scheffler back up to second, Chris Piquette finishing third, Eddie Lemay Jr. fourth and Tafelski in fifth.


Muhle Halts Bishofberger’s Streak at Beaver Dam Raceway

A perfect night for racing greeted racers and fans Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway. In the Performance Motorsports Sport Mods, Aaron Muhle ended Zeke Bishofberger’s A Main streak at eleven, but it was anything but easy for Muhle. Muhle jumped to the lead from his front row starting position, behind him Kevin Reed and Bishofberger were working there way thru the pack. On lap 8 Bishofberger got past Muhle on the inside, but the caution came out for the spinning Adam Pugh. This put Muhle back in front with Bishofberger and Reed in tow. The next 12 laps would see Muhle run down low, Bishofberger trying the middle and Reed running the very top of the track. In the end Muhle was able to hold of both drivers and score the victory. Reed would inch ahead of Bishofberger for second, Matt Bedker came home fourth and Jeff Schepp rounded out the top five.


Wyttenbach Wrestles Win From Schmitt at Beaver Dam Raceway

Beaver Dam Raceway resumed racing action after a one week layoff due to rain. In the Choice Insurance Legend Cars, Joel Wyttenbach came home with the A Main victory. Rodney Mundt paced the field for the first lap, before spinning to the infield on lap 2, handing the lead to Wyttenbach, who had started in the eighth starting position. Wyttenbach would continue to lead, until lap 8 when Brandon Schmitt would go underneath Wyttenbach and take a slight advantage. The two would race side by side with Wyttenbach up high and Schmitt down low. Wyttenbach would take the lead on lap 12, only to have Schmitt regain the lead a lap later. Schmitt would surrender the lead to Wyttenbach on lap 15 and Wyttenbach would go on to the victory. Joe Johnson came home third followed by Eric Barth and Dallas Ross.


Bishofberger Makes it Ten in a Row at Beaver Dam Raceway

Zeke Bishofberger continued his undefeated season in the A Mains, as he recorded his 10th Performance Motorsports Sport Mods A Main win. Bishofberger started in the fifth position. He worked his way to fourth after lap one, he got by Kevin Reed for third on lap two, he used the high side to pass Aaron Muhle for second on lap three, and he passed Adam Pugh for the lead on lap five. Pugh didn’t go away, as he continued to pressure Bishofberger lap after lap. Bishofberger was up to the task and was able to hold Pugh and take the victory, Muhle finished third, Reed was fourth and Gary Bauer rounded out the top five. The heat race was won by Muhle over Pugh and Reed.


Rechek Rockets to Mod Main at Beaver Dam Raceway

Beaver Dam Raceway once again had all five divisions in action Saturday night. A season high 92 cars were on hand to do battle. Matt Rechek brought home the hard fought victory in the Weld Specialty Supply Modified A Main. Noah Schepp paced the first lap of the main before Craig Priewe took to the highside and overtook Schepp for the lead one lap later. Priewe would continue to run on the top groove while Rechek would run the very bottom. The two cars would touch coming out of turn 4 on lap five, and one lap later Rechek would get by for the lead. With Rechek out front a good battle between Priewe, Schepp, Don Scheffler, and Marc Miller for positions two thru five. A lap twenty caution regroup the field for a five lap shootout in the extended main event. On the restart Priewe again shot to the high side and retook the lead from Rechek, but one lap later Rechek got by a took back the top position. Rechek would go on to claim the victory, Scheffler would get past Priewe for second, Priewe finished third, Mitch McGrath crossed the line fourth from his eleventh starting position and Jeremy Christians rounded out the top five.


Moore Makes it Two In a Row at Beaver Dam Raceway

Racing action continued Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway. “Topside” Tommy Moore made it two in a row in the Piggly Wiggly Grand National Division. He used the topside to get around Steve Wirtz and Nick Strobbe on lap number seven and held off a hard charging and current point leader Jeff Steenbergen to take the victory in the 20 lap main, Kenny Richards came home third, Roger Lee in fourth and Strobbe in fifth. The heat races were taken by Brian Cesar, Moore and Lee.
