THE ASAMT SEALS THE DEAL WITH FOX SPORTS NET FOR 2010

By: Kari Shear-Carlson ASA Midwest Tour PR
(Thursday, January 21, 2010) The American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and Grandstay® Residential Suites Hotels is thrilled to announce that they have joined forces with Emmy Award-winning Fox Sports Net for the 2010 ASAMT racing season. Fox Sports North* and Fox Sports Wisconsin* reach the homes of more than 4 million viewers throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas, providing coverage anywhere from the WIAA high school championships to Minnesota Wild hockey, the Milwaukee Brewers, the NBA, and the NFL.

Ryan Sirvio, Programming Manager of Fox Sports Net North and Fox Sports Net Wisconsin stated, “We are excited to bring the ASA Midwest Tour to FOX Sports North and FOX Sports Wisconsin. Their short-track race series is a great addition as we continue to provide the best in local sports programming in this region, and this tour is all over our distribution footprint. It’s a natural fit.” ASAMT Vice President, Steve Einhaus, spent some time talking with Ryan Sirvio and was excited to hear that this was just what FSN was looking for. “It is a really great feeling when the program manager of such a great network is excited about what we are bringing to them. This is exactly what they have been looking for to reach out to the race fans around the upper Midwest”.

The ASAMT is putting together a top of the line production team with over 30 years of combined television and broadcast experience. Jim Tretow, well-known host and reporter in the motorsports industry, will be the show’s host and producer. Stepping in as pit road reporter and production assistant, Jana Jurkovich brings several years of experience in television production along with an inside perspective of the sport. With over 15 years of experience in broadcast television, award-winning motorsports reporter, Bill Holland will serve as the show’s co-host and content director.

The additional exposure and added value of televised events will reach beyond the series sponsors. Drivers, teams and team sponsors will also acquire benefits not otherwise obtainable. Sponsors can use televised events as venues for new opportunities to promote their products and services. Driver exposure will not be limited to the grandstands, but will extend to the homes of over 4 million viewers. The 2009 winner of the Joe Shear Classic, Nathan Haseleu and his sponsors are looking forward to the upcoming televised events. "The new exposure on Fox Sports Net is a great opportunity for the ASA Midwest Tour to showcase their premiere series, drivers and sponsors. Our sponsors, The Swiss Colony and RaceTeamGear.com are looking forward to the opportunity to reach new fans and customers," stated Haseleu.

“Steve and I have always said that we want to take baby steps while building this series. This is the best opportunity yet, and we are very happy about what it will do for our sponsors, our racers, their sponsors and our fans. The branding and recognition will be threefold for all of us, and I believe this is just the beginning of a list of exciting things for 2010”, stated ASAMT President, Tim Olson.

Jerry Kobza, Marketing Manager of Golden Eagle Distributing is also looking forward to what this new coverage will do for them as a current sponsor of the series. “Golden Eagle Distributing and ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment are very excited about the added exposure for ECHO, the ECHO Brands, Bear Cat, Oregon Chain and the family of dealers that participate in the ASAMT. This new addition of the television package is pure proof that the ASA Midwest Tour is the premier super late model series in the country.”

**Televised events will include:

May 2nd-Joe Shear Classic from Madison International Speedway
June 5th-Elko Speedway
August 3rd-Dixieland 150 from Wisconsin International Raceway
