The schedule for the new Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design was released at a drivers meeting at 141 Speedway’s Victory Lane Pub on Thursday.
8 shows at seven different clay ovals will take place in the series maiden voyage. The Tour kicks off on Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 26 at Beaver Dam Raceway, a privately owned, high-banked third-mile clay oval.
Two weeks later the Tour heads north to Seymour Super Speedway located at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 10. Just seven days later on Sunday, June 17 it’s a jaunt down near the Wisconsin/Illinois border as the BMT will be part of a doubleheader with the United Midwest Promoters (UMP) Summernationals late model special at Wilmot Speedway located at the Kenosha County fairgrounds.
The Tour heads north for the next date – the Clash @ Creek IV Wednesday, June 27 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. Last season Seymour’s Brian Mullen took home the Lion’s share of the purse in that event, topping the 36 car field before a packed house.
From Francis Creek the Tour heads back to Dodge County, for a doubleheader with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprints at the popular Dodge County Fairgrounds “Horsepower Half Mile” on Friday, July 20.
A pair of mid week specials dot the series calendar in August. Tuesday night, August 21 Oshkosh Speedzone will host the BMT in a doubleheader with the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA). IMCA northern sportmods will also compete in that event.
Just 48 hours later the Manitowoc County Expo plays host to the Tour in a special Manitowoc County fair event with the stock cars. The series champion will be crowned on Friday night, October 5 at 141 Speedway’s Creek Classic in the BMT’s season finale.
“Overall we’ve got a pretty diverse mix of tracks in our first season,” said BMT series director Joe Verdegan. “For the most part the schedule is spread out enough. It’s appealing to fans and drivers alike.”
The Badger Mod Tour will have a booth at the Lakeshore Motorsports Show and Sale Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Expo in Manitowoc. Series memberships will be sold, along with series hoodies and t shirts.
