Werner Eclectic Supply sponsored the Werner Electric UP 50, Friday night at the Norway Speedway. The main event was cut 3 laps short of the finish due to a City of Norway Power Failure. Mike Reichenberger was the leader at the time, when it was determined well beyond a two hour wait past the 11th hour to call it a night.
Matt Parkansky battled Steve Debaker to the green flag of the Werner Electric UP 50. Parkansky led the first lap, but Debaker would nudge a head to lead lap two and move into the lead. Dillon Kralovetz raced by Parkanksy as well to move into the second position closing in on Debaker. Kralovetz would jump to the outside of Debaker on lap 7 completing the pass then went on to put a little breathing room between him and the second position. At the midpoint of the race, Kralovetz still held a couple car length lead over Craig Schei and Mike Reichenberger. Schei and Reichenberger slammed and banged as Schei tried his best to keep the second position. As the second and third place cars battled along side each other, they started to rope in the leader. It quickly became a four car battle for the top spot as Troy Nelson joined the battle with Schei and Reichenberger. On Lap 30 Reichenberger had the drive he needed off the corner to motor past Kralovetz for the lead, Troy Nelson would soon follow Reichenberger’s path into the second position. As the laps ticked by, fast qualifier Dalton Zehr had been cruising from the back of the pack on the outside lane, moving into the second position, and to the door of the #1 car of Reichenberger when the caution flag flew for a brief spin with three laps remaining. As soon as the caution flag flew the Track Lights went out, and the wait began. City of Norway tried their best to get the problem rectified in a timely manor, but after a two hour wait, and the clock well past 11pm, the race had to be called.
